Delta County is welcoming another first time event to the area, last year it was bass this year it is bowlers. The Wisconsin Senior Bowling Tournament will be making its first appearance in the Upper Peninsula while celebrating its 25 Anniversary.  Bowlers ages 55 and over from The Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin will be competing in four person teams for over $39,000 in cash, prizes,  and bragging rights. Balls start rolling and pins start flying on weekends starting March 18th through May 7^th.

Steve Masters, from the Convention and Visitors Bureau said, “The CVB is excited to welcome this first time event to our area. It’s unique, something new, and fresh. To date 270, four person teams have registered for the tournament. It is my understanding that if we can break the 284 team mark, this will be the largest tournament in the events 25 year history.”

This truly is a community event; the Chamber of Commerce is preparing hospitality bags to welcome bowlers to Delta County. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Vickie Micheau said, “it is nice to have an event like this during a traditionally slow time for merchants and the hospitality industry, the event should help local businesses and we are happy to welcome the event participants”

Ken Lueneburg or “Ticker as he is known locally”, owner of the Bowl-A- Rama where the event is being held said, “news of the tournament came at the perfect time as a renovation complete with new paint, new carpet, and new bowling pins was already in the works”. Ticker also said, “District Representative Richard Stanchina “Doc” worked hard to get the tournament in Delta County and we want it to be one of the best ever so that we can get these folks back in the UP. Doc has been visiting bowling alleys through out the UP, signing up teams, and letting everyone know about the tournament. He has really worked hard to make this a success.”
