COUNCIL'S CHARGE
Governor Jennifer Granholm wants the bipartisan Council of Economic Advisors to be her "kitchen cabinet" for ideas to kick-start Michigan's economy and attract new jobs to the state. The council, consisting of business and community leaders, will work in an advisory capacity with the new Department of Labor and Economic Growth and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
The council has been charged with:
Developing strategies to revive and strengthen Michigan manufacturing.
Working with labor and higher education on work force development and education.
Developing recommendation to improve the quality of life of state residents and revitalize Michigan cities.
Focusing on traditional and technology-driven economic development through the state's Technology Tri-Corridor, homeland security, and life science.
Your input is needed for the council to be successful. Please fill out the Recommendations to Improve U.P. Business Climate form on-line. You can also read other suggestions to the council as a basis for discussion.
