Each day is designed to be highly interactive and thought provoking. A typical day involves a combination of group discussions, field trips and presentations by respected local leaders.
January 18 and 19
Opening activities include motivational session with BBD and Associates emphasizing the importance of the Five Essential Elements of Leadership. A reception will be held with current and past Delta Force students to help set the stage for the experience.
January 31• Leadership Day and Community Service Loren Woerpel, Kathy Jacobi-Collins, Sue Roll and Brent Madalinski, Facilitators
You will be exploring how your own gifts may be used to expand your leadership potential. Experienced community leaders will help us discuss the importance of the leadership processes of connecting, and the moral issues of
leadership in public service.
February 28 • Government Day Nancy Kolich, Facilitator
Government Day will be filled with the opportunity to meet and interact with leaders at several levels of local and state government. You will learn about the various levels of responsibilities and services as well as the challenges that each faces as they try to serve the public. You will also become more aware of the vast number of opportunities that are open to serve in leadership positions in local government
March 27 • Education Day Mike Koster, Facilitator
This session will explore the issues impacting education in Delta County.
Participants will leave with a broader perspective and a deeper understanding of the complexities facing educators today.
April 24 • Economic Development Day Ann Jousma Miller, Vickie Micheau and Deb Doyle, Facilitators
An overview of Delta County’s economic development efforts and resources, including a look at key elements of our economy, entrepreneurship, and workforce development; visits to representative businesses; and, observation of a board at work.
May 29 • Law and Order Day Vickie Micheau and Tom Smithson, Facilitators
Participants will explore the fabric of the Delta County Justice system and the relationships woven among its members. A ride along with a local public safety officer must be scheduled before May 18th for the purpose of observing and journaling the daily operation of the department. Lunch will be served in-mate style at the Delta County jail.
June 26 • History and Culture Day Marc Tall and Renee Lundberg, Facilitators
Enjoy a bus tour of our area identifying some of the historical bits and pieces that have helped make us who we are. A trip to the Hannahville Community will follow with a tour to include the Casino, Health Clinic, School, Community Center and Administrative Offices. Following the tours, representatives will share some background about the community and their 2020 vision for the future.

The rich natural resources of Delta County have played an important role in shaping the history, culture and economy of our area. Learn more about the continued relationship between our natural environment and the Delta County of today. Visit a logging job, cruising on the Bays de Noc on the Inland Seas Schooner floating classroom, and tour a world class paper making facility, located right in our own backyard."
